The Nest Sports Bar named "Official" Home of Chesapeake Bayhawks.
Baltimore, MD - January 1st, 2010 - In fitting fashion, The Nest Sports Bar & Restaurant has become the "Official" 2010 party and meeting spot for the Bayhawks. With the help of new General Manager Tony D'Angelo at The Nest, the Bayhawks will enjoy the services of hosting all of the Major Events at the Beautiful downtown sports bar.
With a fitting name for a Birdland bar, The Nest has more than 22 high definition televisions and two 65 inch flat screens to provide great game-time views no matter where you're perched. Plus, the bar's motto, "Win or lose, we still booze," proves a level of dedication we admire.
"This is a great opportunity for us, and we are excited about having a place to hang out for our players and fans after our games this season", said Bayhawks owner Elwood Townsend. "Tony and the Staff has been so helpful in this deal, and will benefit both parties!"
"I think it will be great! I am more than willing to do whatever it takes to make your team comfortable here", said Nest's GM Tony D'Angelo. The Nest is located at 200 West Pratt Street, directly across the street from the Baltimore Convention center.

Bayhawks pack bags and head South!
Baltimore, MD - After two stints in the CFA the last being from 2006 through the 2009 season the Chesapeake Bayhawks will leave the CFA effectively immediately and become new members of the Alliance Football League (AFL). The Alliance was started in the Mid-west, but has since moved to the south, and started its way north. Team owner Elwood Townsend would not comment on the reasons behind it, but states that is was just time for a change.
"The Colonial has given us a good home for the last few seasons, but I feel its time has passed and the Bayhawks needs to move on", said Townsend. "We have built some wonderful relationship in the CFA and have played in some of the best games you can imagine, but we want to take our program on the road."
The Alliance has teams based in OH, MO, TN, NC, SC, VA, and now MD. "The Alliance Football League is proud and excited to have the Chesapeake Bayhawks as members. The Bayhawks have shown to be a team of great leadership on and off the field, as well as an organization that shares the same vision for success for the future as that of the Alliance Football League", said league President Greg Campbell.
