The Showgirlz took care of business with a 48 to 8 win over the Arizona Assassins!!!

Nikki Johnson led the team with 7 catches for 191 yards, 3 tds and 6 carries for 122 yards and 3 more tds.

QB, Kerri Mytych was 14 out of 26 for 295 yards, 4 tds and 1 int., she is the

WFA's "PLAYER OF THE WEEK"

We are Honoring all Armed Forces and Boys and Girls of Las Vegas. All Boys and Girls ages 17 and under are in FREE if you are wearing a football jersey!!! It can be a flag football jersey, high school jersey, college jersey, a NFL team jersey or a SHOWGIRLZ JERSEY. There will be a Pass, Punt, and Kick event that starts at 4:30pm, top 3 in each age group compete at half-time.

Armed Forces get in for 1/2 price, with military I.D. or dressed in Uniform.

The Showgirlz put on another great show, with a 34 to 6 win,sending the Warriors home with their first lost of the season. The Showgirlzalso brought in $935 in their fundraising efforts in the now annual "THINK PINK" game.

As of May 11th 2009,Coach Lee has been named Director and Head Coach of Team USA Football Lady Eagles. "I am very proud to be heading up the women's team, to represent the United States in American football is a dream come true", states Lee. "We will be looking forward to recruting players and coaches for the 2010 games." Here is a little history on the Team USA Eagles (men's team).The USA Eagles have traveled to 12 countries and played more than 20 games since 2002 which has afforded more than 300 athletes and coaches an opportunity to represent their country, community and the sport they love in Europe, Mexico, Canada and the United States. WEST VALLEY CITY As they left the field following their inaugural women's football game, the Utah Blitz high-fived fans, accepted congratulations and vowed that the best was yet to come.

It was a celebration usually reserved for winning teams, and in a way the Blitz were on Saturday night. They lost on the scoreboard to Las Vegas, 27-0, but just being out there, playing full-contact football represented a victory for many of the women playing for the Blitz.

"It's a dream," said Utah receiver Whitney Smith. "I played with the kids in my neighborhood and they got to play in high school. This is my first real game, first real season. It's dreams, man."

No player captured the Blitz's spirit quite like Smith. She suffered what she thought might be a broken rib while making a tackle in the first quarter. It's an injury she dealt with when she played soccer at Weber State. She said she just had to adjust her breathing and she was set.

Smith got the loudest ovation of the night from the home crowd at Granger High, which came close to completely filling the bleachers. Her moment came shortly after Las Vegas' LaJoya Norman intercepted a pass and had a huge lead in front of would-be Utah tacklers on her way to the endzone late in the fourth quarter.
